They are an absolutely great pair of boots, the best high leg boots I have ever owned
Black Hi-Shine 20 Eye Zip Derby Boot
Had my eye on these for a while. Bought Solavair as I perceived them to be better quality than a similar brand and they are fabulous! My 14 year old was ‘whatever’ until they arrived, then it was ‘can we share? Please?’ I’m a 7.5 on one foot and chose a 7 which fit beautifully. My advice is do not hesitate!
I have not a single complaint - received my pair the next day after ordering and have been very happy with them since. Very comfortable, they look great - I am one happy camper of a customer.
This is my first pair of leather boots ever so I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt.
Anyways, I'll give my issues.
I am overweight and there are gaps between the tongue and the boot. If your calves are 17 inches, these may not be for you... I dont hold this against the company. I have other issues.
The zipper is so hard to use, despite not even having laced and tied the boot. I have rough hard skin on my fingers where I pull the zipper because it's such a struggle. Ive had the boots 2 weeks and the zipper teeth aren't aligning properly so I'm afraid the zipper will break soon.
The boots are so hard and pinch your ankle skin when bending. I understand with time and softening this might stop but with some googling, I read it would be 80 to 100 hours of wear time before leather softens at all. I'm not so... patient.
So, some good things about the boot. They seem very sturdy. Again, I've only had them 2 weeks and only worn them around the house in an attempt to break them in. But lacing them tightly, pulling violently, stomping around, they seem sturdy.
They also seem very wide and spacious.
I have short but wide feet, and was very worried about fit. I am wearing a size 8uk in this boot with a self measured 25cm long and 11cm wide foot. If your feet are narrow, you might want to size down or you'll be swimming in the boot. Other than the ankle, they seem comfortable and I am excited to wear them outside eventually when they hurt less to wear around the house.
